Call for Submissions: Queer Utopia Group Art Show

Call for Submissions: Queer Utopia Group Art Show

The NSCAD Queer Collective is seeking work by emerging artists that engages with topics of futurity, and utopias. We have chosen the concept of utopias as a place to connect critiques of the present with visions of the future. To connect intersectional struggles to visions of resistance. Artists should feel free to challenge accepted conceptions of queerness and envision radical or practical alternative futures. Artists are encouraged to connect to issues affecting themselves or their communities. We hope this show will spark dialogue and challenge viewers to hope and to resist.

All mediums are welcome. This juried exhibition is open to submissions from emerging artists and students. The show will open on December 9thth in the Anna Leonowens Gallery and will run until December 10th to 14 2013. The exhibition will take place in the lowermost gallery space within the Anna Leonowens (gallery 3), and will include the alcove just off of gallery 2.
